How to Create A 10-Minute, Daily Journaling Ritual

How do I start Journaling? What do I write in my journal? I don’t have time to journal……..

All valid questions for a first-time journalerย and it was the inspiration for my Journal Apex ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ-๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฒ-๐—ฎ-๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ท๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น, meaning “The period during which someone or something flourishes or is at their peak”

It intends to guide you a little but also provides space for you to freestyle. The theory behind the structure is that you start your day stating your positive intentions and then at the end of the day you review how you got on.

Nothing intensive – 5 mins in the AM and 5 mins in the PM. Now, you can of course go and grab a copy of Apex but you can also use a standard notebook and section it up.

Let’s get you started on your journaling journey in 4 simple steps:

Get a pen and a piece of paper.

This can cover anything that moves you forward toward your ideal day, better eating habits, more fitness, personal development, side projects, work, reading, gratitude, or a more positive approach to your day.

Negative aspects that pull you away from progression, less TV, less junk food, reduced screen time, negative feelings, sitting

How did you get on, did you it all your intentions? Did you struggle with one in particular? Are you enjoying your days more or are you struggling? What did you learn from your day?

This is where you can write whatever you want. Start with the morning and work your way through. You could focus on things you are grateful for, conversations that impacted you, ideas that came up throughout the day.

Over time you will refine this writing to focus on what is deeply important for you to note and learn from.ย 

Thoughts that will help your future self, aspects of a day that you want to remember. Conversations that you enjoyed or found difficult. Your options are endless.ย

One last, very important step in your journaling

Once you have a few weeks down on paper go back and review. Read your words, and your thoughts mull them over then ask yourself questions. How far have you come? What has changed? What ideas have you had?ย
